Facebook is back on track after botnet attack

News Corp has said it is back online and operating as usual after a botnet attacked the social media website of a prominent journalist in the Philippines.

News Corp reported its earnings for the week ending March 30 and revealed that its revenue rose to $9.8 billion, which was up from $9 billion in the same period a year earlier.

Its results beat Wall Street expectations.

Analysts polled by FactSet had expected a profit of $1.8 per share, according to Thomson Reuters data.

It said it had recorded an operating loss of $2.5 billion for the period, which included $1 billion in restructuring charges and other expenses.

The company also said it expects to achieve a net profit of approximately $1,200 million for the year ending March 31.
