Facebook has come under fire for its ads that send spamcats to the wrong person, and the company has been quick to respond.
The social media giant said Wednesday that its ads are meant to be more targeted, and it has introduced a new way for people to opt out of those ads.
The new ads will be displayed in the app’s main feed, which will tell people to “opt out.”
Users will be able to opt-out by clicking the little dot on the right side of the page.
That will take them to a pop-up window where they will be asked to confirm their choices.
Facebook has also added a new option for users to opt into a special “no ads” option that will prevent the ads from being displayed in its main feed.
Facebook says the new opt-in option will be available to all users starting on Thursday.
